IoT Parking System.

In this project the client was looking to develop a unique parking barrier system for deployment to undercover car parks and outdoor parking areas.

Activities.

  • Review the Client’s project and business objectives, and determine the most suitable wireless IoT technology platforms in order to achieve desired outcome
  • Research, identify and source electronic and electro-mechanical components of the system, including selection of suitable barrier driver motors, vehicle detection sensors, wireless transceivers, microprocessors, batteries etc
  • Develop a LoRaWAN communications system suitable for transmitting parking data over long distances
  • Develop Bluetooth communications to allow vehicle drivers to control parking barriers without the need for bluetooth pairing
  • Design and development of electronics schematics and PCBAs
  • Development of expanded versions of the electronics and firmware, suitable for installation into multiple parking applications
  • Production of a small number of prototypes for user testing, and perform integration testing with supplied mechanical designs
  • Development of an electronics production test system
  • Handover of designs for quantity manufacture
